Shell CEO Wael Sawan has criticised a resolution asking the supermajor to align its business strategy more closely with the Paris Agreement on climate change as “destructive” and “simplistic”, as well as being an example of “bad governance.”
The resolution, filed by green activist shareholder group Follow This, will be voted on at the company’s annual general meeting on 21 May, the eighth year in a row such a resolution has been submitted.
