Babcock & Wilcox selected to build 20 MW of Illinois community solar

Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) has been awarded a contract worth more than $20 million for its B&W Renewable segment from Summit Ridge Energy (SRE) to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for seven community solar projects in Illinois announced.

When completed, the seven solar farms will provide approximately 20 MW of electricity to homes and businesses in northern and central Illinois.

Engineering for the project is currently underway and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
