Don Mealy Auto Group has announced the opening of a new Sport Subaru dealership in Orlando featuring a 395kW rooftop solar project by ESA. The solar array will serve as a pilot project for the future electrification of other Don Mealy Group auto dealerships as part of a multi-dealer strategy focused on clean energy technology.

The location is expected to reduce annual electricity bills by an average of 60%, with a payback period of about six years.

“We are very proud of the journey we have taken to bring Subaru Sports to its new home,” said Robert Mealy, owner of Sports Subaru. “We are thrilled to be able to generate our own solar power. We are thrilled to be part of the Orlando community and look forward to continuing to provide our customers with excellent service and support.”

As more people switch to electric vehicles, the need for EV charging stations is growing. Car dealers can harness solar energy to power their charging stations, making them more cost-effective and less dependent on the power grid. By installing solar panels and EV charging stations, car dealers can create a more sustainable and convenient experience for their customers.
