Emergent Solar Energy has completed its latest commercial project, a 210 kW roof-mounted bifacial solar installation at Abel Construction Company’s Indianapolis headquarters near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The building is also home to Abel Motorsports, which owns the IndyCar-sanctioned Indy NXT race series racing team. Indy NXT was formerly known as Indy Lights. Abel Motorsports will join RC Enerson as a driver for the first time in the 2023 Indianapolis 500.
Jeremy Lipinski, managing partner of Emergent Solar Energy, based at Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette, said the project is one of the largest of its kind in Indianapolis. He said it was.
“This will help integrate solar power into existing commercial buildings to offset power purchases by utilities, provide economic benefits through commercial tax incentives, and help companies meet their sustainability goals. It’s also an example of how we can help,” Lipinski said.
