2022 SolarReviews survey shows installers expect big growth with IRA incentives

Consumer review site SolarReviews has announced its results 2022 Solar Industry SurveyThis was done earlier this year in collaboration with the North American Board of Accredited Energy Professionals (NABCEP). Approximately 450 respondents from across the US solar industry participated.

This report outlines key findings on how installers are coping with supply chain problems, labor shortages and rising financing costs in the early days of the Inflation Reduction Act.

Report Age Group Findings

Some of the key trends revealed in the survey results are:

  • The solar industry continues to grow
    • 63% of residential installers report increased demand in 2022
    • 73% expect solar sales to increase in 2023
  • More Installers Offer Energy Storage and EV Charger Installation
    • Currently, 81% offer installation of energy storage equipment and 67% offer installation of EV chargers.
    • 63% use both additional services
  • Continued difficulties in the supply chain
    • 67% of all respondents reported the same or more severe problems in 2022 compared to 2021
